I am so absolutely crushed right now... Venus was so special to me - and to all who met her - one of the best rats that I have ever known - no doubt about it. :*( I kept her and her brothers, Vince and Hobo from Peaches litter in March 2007. She had the most wonderful, soulful big eyes, hence her name. She also had one white toe... which was just so endearing... not to standard - but it made her that extra bit 'special'. She was a lovely natured little lady, always so friendly, and gentle, and very very quiet - in a good way. She was always so close to her cagemates too - never had a fight, like her mum really - never caused a problem. She gave us a beautiful litter in 2008 - several of which have had babies of their own now... and their babies had babies too - which shows that she lived to a good age as well at least. She never really had a sick day - was just perfect throughout.

She did well at shows too - and although I never had the chance to show her in pet - I can be sure she'd have done brilliantly. I'm just not sure what to write at all - still a bit numb to be honest... :( she was just one of my best friends, and such a wonderful furry person. I'm just so glad I have so many of her wonderful descendents here to always remember her by.

Run free you lovely, gentle little lass - go and find your mum, and any friends you've lost - and wait at the bridge for everyone else you know and love... :(

Here's her song - she wasn't named after it... it was written about her :*) I'm sure about that...

Distant cousins, there's a limited supply.
And we're down to the dozens, and this is why:
Big Eyed Beans from Venus! Oh my, oh my.

Boys and girls,
Earth people around the circle,
Mixtures of man alive.
Big eyed beans from Venus,
Don't let anything get in between us.

Beam in on me baby,
and we'll beam together
I know we always been together,
but there's more.

Mister Zoot Horn Rollo, hit that long lunar note,
and let it float.

Men let your wallets flop out,
and women open your purses,
Cause a man or a woman without a big eyed bean from Venus
Is suffering with the worstest of curses
Yeah, you're suffering, with the worstest of curses.

Put 'em out in the sun, and when the night come
You don't have to go out and get 'em
They'll glow with you
They'll go with you
They'll show with you
Ain't no losers
Cause they're on the right track
Cause they're on the right track
You can be on the right track, woman,
Of course, of course

Ain't no SNAFU, no fol-de-rol

Check these out, Big eyed beans from Venus
Oh, let a few out, let 'em pass in between us

Distant cousins, there's a limited supply.
And we're down to the dozens, and this is why...

Don't let anything get in between us!
Big eyed beans from Venus
