My dear little Samuel Chignall was put to sleep. He had been
deteriorating for quite a while, and it was time for him to go.
He came to us with brothers Inspector Cox, Hillary Briss and Maurice Evans. Coxy died some time ago very sadly - and Samuel is the next to follow. His two topaz rex brothers were still going strong, but probably missed their big bully boy brother.
He was a lovely rat with a wonderful character - a bit feisty, liked to get a nip in - but really just a sweetie. He was a strong man - and it was only very recently that he stopped being Samuel - and I knew it was time to let go.
RIP my sweet little soldier, go and terrorize some topazes at the bridge. you will always be remembered special old fellow.
