Genetics to knowledge: aa Mm Rbrb (possibly carrying Pearl, Ruby Eye and Chocolate)

It's with a very heavy heart I have to announce the passing of a very dear old lady... Pachuco would have been 32 months in a couple of weeks - and didn't even look her age until the last couple of weeks when a nasty facial abscess drained her :*(

Pachuco and I didn't get off on the right foot - she was never happy with being cuddled. She was feisty and strong willed, and very much a ratty rat. She was friendly, for the most part, though she did get quite peeved with us trying to talk to her or cuddle her when she was much younger. She mellowed hugely in old age, and became quite a dotty old dear. She outlived her sister Turkey by quite some way... and I know she'll be over the moon to be re-united with her again, as they were very close.

Pachuco lives on in her wonderful children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren... I'm so grateful to her for giving me the wonderful Squid and her brother Caddy - who was lovable, but useless bless him :*)

Squid is going to miss her beyond measure too - they've lived together all of Squid's life, and although they've had proper mother and daughter *moments* where we've had to separate them for a while they generally were very close - and the last few weeks, Squid's been really looking after her mum :*)

Run free wonderful old lady - to be reunited with Turkey, Caddy and Nic's Barabajagal - you will be missed so much, even if you don't miss us...

 :*)

A song for her - as I used to sing it to her, because it suits her somehow - I mean, you call a rat Pachuco, you're going to get a gangster!  You may know it from the film 'The Mask'.

Hey Pachuco!

Summer '43 the man's gunnin' for me
Blue and white mean war tonight
They say damn my pride and all
The other cats livin' down eastside
And there's no place to hide

Oooh Marie you better grab my jack
And zip gun for me
And I'll face no shame
'Cause tonight's the night I die for our name

Well when we hit downtown
We start to throw down
We end up doing time
Soon as they've met us
They're out to get us
So I stick with that gang of mine

xx
