Well -
NotA finally took his last
breath this morning. He lived so
very much longer than we ever
could have hoped, and was a
sparky gentleman to the last :*)
NotA - like his brothers, was
never well - and we thought that
it would be curtains for them
all quite young, when we lost
their brother Valdez at 11
months old :*( Be-Bop and NotA
both way outstripped our beliefs
though, as both made it to two!
NotA was always the handsome,
quiet one - the one who looked
most like his dad, and who had
his dad's personality and
temperament, he was calm, cool,
gentle and sweet - always happy
for a cuddle, but quite happy to
wait until everyone else was
bored with us, and he would
amble up last for a fuss - never
one to rock the boat with his
cage mates - and everyone got on
with him.
We have had a really bad couple
of months for ratty deaths -
quite a few getting old
together, and other random
strikes :*( it's been very
difficult, and losing NotA seems
like the end of an era - he's
the last of our Carreg rats, and
that's a bit weird. He's also
the last real tie we had with
his dad Shark - and yes, we have
nieces and nephews etc, but it's
not quite the same
Anyway - NotA - a good life, led
well and with love for others at
the forefront of his mind all
the time... :*) run free my
beautiful little soldier.
The song we named him after
doesn't have lyrics sadly -
however, there is another song
of the same name, which seems
fitting somehow...
