While I was in hospital, we lost little Kirsch, Karl didn't want to tell me because I was so ill, and he didn't want to make me feel worse... but I'm so heartbroken to have lost her, she was a really special girl. Some of you have her children, and know how darling they all are - too laid back some of them... She did us proud.

She was the only one of her litter to live as long as she did, which was 2 in December. She was a big rat throughout her life, far too big really - but so cuddly with it. She became terribly frail in later months bless her... but still coped so well. People would visit and think she looked awful, but soon decide on how happy she was when she tottered over to the bars and begged for a cuddle, then she'd lie on her back and lick lick lick.

Kirsch was exactly like her mum Venus too - so it's like losing her all over again... they were always such docile, wonderful *pet* rats... so adorable in so many ways, and Kirsch did OK at pet and varieties shows too - not brilliantly, but well enough for her.

I don't quite know what I'll do without her, before I went into hospital, I cared for her so much because she was so frail, feeding her special foods, giving her extra cuddles and fuss... it's just going to be weird not having her around, it was weird enough coming home and her not being there... :*(

Kirsch was one of my good friends, just there for me, with a lick and a special ratty smile, always ready to comfort me, or play, or just be there. I'm going to miss her so very very much... :*(

Run free special old lady, back with your siblings, parents and children now... give Wanda a cuddle from me, I know you've missed her.

It's just old Luke, and Luke's waiting on the
judgement day
``Well, Luke my friend, what about young
Anna-Lee?''
He said ``Do me a favour son, won't you stay and
keep Anna-Lee company?''

Crazy Chester followed me and he caught me in the
fog
He said ``I will fix your rat if you'll take Jack
my dog''
I said ``Wait a minute Chester, you know I'm a
peaceful man''
He said ``That's okay boy, won't you feed him
when you can?''

Catch a cannonball now to take me down the line
My bag is sinking low and I do believe it's time

To get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the
only one
Who sent me here with her regards for
everyone

Had a gorgeous litter of 12 in 2008.
