Hillary was a quiet old bear. he started life pretty miserably, but soon became a squishy old man. We gave him very special care and attention at the end of his life - and he loved every minute of it.

It marks the end of a very special thing. We got Hillary along with his 3 brothers, Sam, Cox and Maurice, back at the beginning of 2005. They were rescue/rehomes from the Fancy Rats Forum - and they were all a bit mad!

Sadly Hillbear was the last of his brothers to pass away - we found him peaceful and asleep in his bed... He stayed that way for a while, and then passed away very quietly. It was peaceful, and dignified, and for that I am grateful :*)

He was a special old man - with a heart of pure gold as he got older - and depended on us more and more to wash him, and feed him soft foods and give him cuddles etc. We did so much for him the last few weeks of his life, that it's going to be very hard now he's gone. he was such a special little man in every way. Don't quite know how I'll clean his cage out. :(

I knew this day was coming, and we were prepared for it, but it's not any easier for that. :*( Hillary would have been 32 months old in a week :*) so he lived to a very good old age.

Anyway - run free old bear, go and find Coxy, Samuel and Mo at the bridge - take them some Ratwarehouse Honey Oats Crunchies... you all loved those so much...: :*(
