Bongo Fury Gina
Beasley

Today we lost lovely Gina... or as she was
originally called, Velvet Goldmine. She was a dear little thing, always
so trusting and loving and friendly. She had a darling personality,
despite her ill health and mistreatment. We rescued her back from a very
poor home earlier in the year with the help of Jayne. She and her friend
Jeanette lived together until Jeanette passed away before we moved to
Ireland. Gina lived with our group of older ladies since - and got on
beautifully with everyone. She was such a sweet girl. :*(
She didn't deserve the crap life threw at her... and I'm so sorry I
failed her by giving her to such a poor home :*( but at least her last
months were truly happy ones.
Run free my gorgeous little lady... free from illness and sadness - to
find your siblings, mum and dad, and past cage friends.
I'd like to dedicate the song she was named after to her memory - but I
think it may be a bit rude :*) so instead there's this... which
is fitting. even though I've never much liked the song - it suits her
perfectly :*)

She wore blue velvet
Bluer than velvet was the night
Softer than satin was the light
From the stars
She wore blue velvet
Bluer than velvet were her eyes
Warmer than May her tender sighs
Love was ours
Ours a love I held tightly
Feeling the rapture grow
Like a flame burning brightly
But when she left, gone was the glow of
Blue velvet
But in my heart there'll always be
Precious and warm, a memory
Through the years
And I still can see blue velvet
Through my tears
