Well... this is the last of Birdie's ill fated babies to join her at the bridge... Snork went on for so much longer than we ever expected, she was a real fighter. I'm just gutted to lose her. Every good thing has to be tainted somehow, and today of all days, the day I get out of hospital, I go to the rat shed for cuddles to find her asleep, never to wake up :*(

Snork was a wonderful, even tempered girl. One of those rats that just blends into the background. It doesn't mean you have less of a bond with them, just that they wait quietly for you to have any special time with them. That was Snork - never one to be at the bars pestering you, always just waiting her turn patiently, and then being very cuddly and licky when she did come out for a snuggle.

Snork was a gentle little thing, not a bad bone in her body - and her illness must have made her uncomfortable at times, but she never let it show, she always trucked on, fighting away, and being her usual cheerful, gentle self. She was a very special little girl. I don't quite know what I'll do without any Birdie babies left... they were all so high maintenance... all so difficult to care for with being so ill, and worth every second of it. It'll be odd not having the wheezing in the shed, odd not having the super skinny rats to give extra food to, or to medicate.... but oddest of all will be not having any of those wonderful, soft coated, gentle, sweet natured little guys to cuddle at night... :*( that's going to be the hardest thing to cope with.

Run free you fabulous thing, go and find your mum and brothers and sisters, and let them know I miss them every day :*(
