Genetics to knowledge: A/- Dd mm Rbrb (possibly carrying Chocolate and Dumbo)

My gorgeous girl Ber has gone to join sister Parry and mum Bella at the Bridge... :*( I'm gutted. I'd known the day was coming for a while, as Ber had a nasty pituitary tumour, and to be honest I was thinking of taking her to the vet this evening to be put to sleep, but she was already gone when I got back from the shop :*( although, there's some comfort in that she was curled up with her sisters in bed.

Ber was a lovely girl - one of the prettiest rats, and one of the most outgoing. She was into everything, and had a really special cheeky character. Quite a few people will remember her, as she was one of those girls who was always out first. She had a way of grabbing you with both paws and not letting go... how ironic then that her illness should be one that stopped her grabbing with her paws :*(...

Towards the end she'd gone a bit senile, and her balance wasn't great. Sometimes she'd start to bite me because she didn't know who I was... but she'd quickly work it out and stop, and resort to licking. She loved her Nutri-Cal too - and had quite a few nomming sessions with me - and the other day I gave her a very special treat of the gooey chicken fat jelly from roasting chicken legs. She loved it, it was easy to eat and very tasty I suppose. I was hoping it'd build her up a bit. Despite having seen a few nasty PTs, I was still hoping that she might get over it - knowing damn well that she couldn't.

Run free gorgeous girl... free now from what ails you - back with your friends and family, and no longer in any discomfort :*( I miss you already...
